Vincent Lamouroux is also chairing a “public discussion” with Bettina Atala as part of the Nomad Nights

Born in 1974 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye (France), he lives and works in Paris.

Somewhere between science-fiction and quantum physics, the artist Vincent Lamouroux works in particular on an open conception of sculpture, broadened to the whole arena of space. An example: Scape (2005-2006), his famous flipper ramp that ran across the entire area of the Mamco in Geneva, and later at the Palais de Tokyo, in Paris. The virtuoso art of making the notion of “monumental sculpture” weightless.

What does the dictum “Wherever I am going, I am already there” do for you?

From wherever I am, I shall then go.

A word about your project or artistic proposal?

“Cuius est solum, ejus est usque ad caelum et ad inferos” (he to whom the earth belongs possesses it from its centre to the sky).

What does art enable you to do?

Give (myself) wings.
