Resulting from collaboration between poet Anne-James Chaton, guitarist Andy Moor and sound artist Alva Noto, Décade is a mixture of words, rhythms and melodic loops. Chaton’s deliberately repetitive, almost litanic reading becomes a basso continuo line that the music develops over and sometimes drowns. Noto’s geometrical, minimal loops complement Moor’s experimental, rock chords and riffs, and gradually the prose, guitar and machines gain in mutual resonance, climaxing in a powerful yet harmonious musical storm.
