LES SIESTES ÉLECTRONIQUES PRESENTS:
BLIND DIGITAL CITIZEN
DJ set Michel
Under the heavenly patronage of Alain Bashung, somewhere between Booba and Noir Désir, with Sébastien Tellier in the line of fire, Blind Digital Citizen sings songs of the future in French, which their name does not imply. What is involved here, on the contrary, is remains of the 20th century and the decay of the modern world. Exorcising the past, and tossing it in the garbage, the better to leap headlong into an uncertain but perforce flamboyant future. So this is a total, cathartic oeuvre, akin to a good old Greek tragedy, but with futuristic electronic accents and a taste of metal in the mouth.
Michel is one of the active champions of the great tradition of French variety, a noble art, too long derided by young French people.
