“The exhibition by Aurélien Froment and Raphaël Zarka is the result of a mutual invitation between the two artists. For the first time, they are offering a shared exploration of the artists’ work. Offering a broad view of each other’s work, the event is a simultaneous, joint discovery of their themes and concerns. Spreading over the 2,000 square metres of the main floors at Les Abattoirs, the presentation features about a hundred works, some never shown before. Its double signature makes this show similar to a musical canon, but what soon emerges is an exceptional polyphony. On a stereophonic base, their project is also a group show with a multiplicity of subjects, figures and authors. Raphaël Zarka likes to call several of his pieces “documentary sculptures” because they address specific subjects. This exhibition invites viewers into an ‘imagined museum,’ a place were collections are reinvented by the works.” - Olivier Michelon
