Caroline Bergvall

Born in 1962, he lives and works in London

Caroline Bergvall works between writing and sound art. An international artist with multiple cultural roots, she has, not surprisingly, developed a hybrid and personal art of language. Her words, syntax and phrasing are often multilingual, sometimes dislocated and always singular.

For the Printemps de septembre she has devised a group piece based on a solo presented in 2014. This project explores the musicality and the rhythmic aspects of breathing. Aided by an amateur choir from Toulouse, she creates a sound piece that is at once personal and collective, a song of welcome and celebration.
