Born in 1950.

Jenny Holzer was a leading artist of the 1970s in the United States. Through her written interventions, she produced a critical work made up of deviations from the political and television message. Her truisms first appeared anonymously on a Manhattan street in 1977 and since then have appeared in New York's Time Square, San Francisco's stadium, the Piazza of the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris, etc. Her work specifically questions the social function of language.
