Le Printemps de Cahors — 1 Minute scénario

06.06 -- 06.22.1997

Frontstage

Heading for the year 2000 ! Cahors, the first cultural site in France's Midi-Pyrénées région to be selected for the year 2000,  is keeping its promises. It basic concept and artistic direction are clear. Only the work of young artists is welcome at this youthful festival with international ambitions.

Here the public and the artists meet and pedagogy is a priority. Among the factors driving creative work is the constantly growing sponsorship by the national and regional governments.

What has made Le Printemps de Cahors so successful is the motivation of its staff and 350 volunteer workers, and of the entire city that every year gives itself over day and night to this event, a living snapshot of contemporary visual arts and photography that attracts more and more people every year.

This year will be the year of novelty : a new exhibitions curator, a new exhibition site, a new approach to nighttime displays, performances, choregraphy, etc.

Exhibitions are free, festival is in the street... The art of our time, the time of a Spring, illuminates once again the medieval city.
