Denis Hopper, Newspapper and Streamers, 1961-1967

gelatin silver print, 40,6 x 61cm

Born in 1936 in Dodge City (Kansas), he lives and works in Los Angeles (USA).

Actor and film director, Dennis Hopper is a legend who appeared on the screen in 1955 alongside James Dean. Easy Rider, the first feature film he directed and in which he appeared, became the cult film of the 1970s. Dennis Hopper is also a painter and photographer. He portrays the pop artists of his generation as if they were film actors. Recently, Dennis Hopper has been photographing graffiti as if it were a parietal painting, reminiscent of the walls he photographed in the 1950s, detecting in them the signs of an urban pictoriality of an inescapable modernism.
