Born in 1956 in Rimouski (Canada), he lives in Montreal (Canada).
André Martin's work, which is both a sociological chronicle and a personal diary, constantly weaves together writing and photography. While sitting in a posh restaurant in Montreal, L'Express, the artist spies on conversations and writes down snippets of sentences and comments on the paper tablecloths. His Chroniques de l'Express, from which he has produced a book, also includes a series of photographs in which the protagonists of the story never appear.
