Joël Bartoloméo

Born in 1957 in Bonneville (France), he lives in Saint-Cloud (France).

Since 1991, Joël Bartoloméo has been making short, unadorned films on the micro-events of his family's daily life, using a simple camcorder placed on a table or on the carpet. With a simplicity that evokes the origins of cinema, he captures scenes of ordinary life in which, between complicity and cruelty, the networks of emotional links in the family microcosm are laid bare, a laboratory of our ambivalent relations with the Other.
