Born in 1956 in Springflied (USA), he lives in New York and Ann Arbor (USA).

 

The works of Joseph Grigely, who has been deaf since the age of 11, play on the terrain of communication. By asking his interlocutors to write down what they want to say, he turns conversation into a visual universe, and preserves the traces of it, pieces of paper covered with messages that constitute his working material.

 

In Cahors, he creates a space for conversation through a device where the spectator can take a seat, drink a coffee, ...
