Lars Nilsson, The mechanics of the increased sensation of life, 1997

Mixed media, dimensions variables

courtesy galerie Andres Brandström, Stockholm

Born in 1956 in Stockholm (Sweden), he lives in Malmö (Sweden).

In his installations, Lars Nilson mixes the intimate and the public, the physical body and the social body. In doing so, he questions our voyeuristic relationship to images.

His installation in Cahors is a room equipped with a chandelier with multiple disproportionate bulbs, causing a dazzling light and a heat that is difficult to bear. In this room are several photographs of the artist occupying or sleeping in his flat, under this same lamp post.
