Rodney Graham, Halcion Sleep, 1994

Vidéo

Born in 1964 in Vancouver (Canada), he lives there.

Nourished by Freudian thought, Rodney Graham constructs works based on childhood memories, reminiscences or dreams. In the video Halcion Sleep, the artist, dressed in a pijama, is asleep in the back seat of a car, after having taken a dose of sleeping pills. The urban landscape around him creates a dreamlike effect and gives the feeling that he is gradually being swallowed up in this setting.
