Serge Comte, In search of Serge in the plastic surgery, n°16, 1997
Impression jet d'encre sur post-it, 21 x 29,7cm
curtesy galerie Jousse-Seguin, Paris
Born in 1966 in La Tronche (France), he lives in Paris and Reykjavik (Iceland).
Serge Comte's work consists of questioning the blurred areas of identity. In his computer-generated portraits, he uses the morphing technique to mix his face with the faces of various characters, real or fictional (here, artists of his generation), or to inflict digital blows and wounds. These clones are printed on Post-it notes, a volatile and disposable material that suits the playful nature of this work.
