Born in 1949 in Paris, she lives there.
Sophie Ristelhuerber's photographic work focuses on finding dimensional and spiritual reference points among real events and places.
In Cahors, she is showing for the first time in France three monumental dyptiches from the series Vulaines (1989). Done at children's eye level, these images show, rather than finished paintings, clues to a childhood place, its objects, its founding memories and its fractures.
