Born in 1967 in Göteborg (Sweden), she lives and works in Stockholm.

Annika von Hausswolff's photographic work, in particular the series Alone with Bubble (1995) showing the artist hidden behind enormous pink chewing gum bubbles, confronts the body with objects or environments that exacerbate its physical reality and contribute to the extension or deformation of its image. Other works, such as Back to Nature (1992-1993), deal directly with violence and even death.

Following the works recently shown at the Nordic Pavilion of the Venice Biennale or at the ARC (Paris) in 1999, Annika von Hausswolff has created a new piece shown for the first time at le Printemps de Cahors, the installation Room for Increased on the Parallel Day (2000), composed of an intimate furniture environment and photographs of empty rooms; a parallel life of memories and places.
