Martin Walde is also exhibiting an installation at the Grenier du Chapitre.

Born in 1957 in Innsbruck (Austria), he lives and works in Vienna and New York (USA).

The Austrian artist Martin Walde, shown notably at the Dokumenta X in Kassel, has developed an original body of work based on soap, silicone, wax, cotton or plastic; participative installations, videos, photographs and drawings; which brings out the unpredictable in matter and things. Soap, the material he uses and which is linked to his own history (his father ran a soap factory), is an allegory for his approach to transforming matter and giving rise to improbable configurations. Martin Walde's films are also linked to this work on the sensitive, which gives rise to improbable configurations. Martin Walde's films are also linked to this work on the sensitive, which gives rise to new possibilities from a material or an image.

For the first time in France, he presents his video work Don't Know (1998) - an animated video in which the artist's drawing recreates a strange vision, that of a young woman constantly turning her skirt around her hips on the Pont Marie - as well as new photographs from the Frog Chorus ensemble (2000).

Ricoh photographic co-production, Clamart.
