Born in 1956 in Saint-Trond (Belgium), he lives and works in Brussels.

Through photography, video, sculpture and installation, Michel François explores the relationship between the body and matter, and the body and the world. The process of transformation of matter, the opposition of the empty and the full, the gesture and its consequences on the materials, are all themes developed with the desire to restore "the beauty of the experience".

In Cahors, Michel François is showing a retrospective of his large-format posters produced since 1994, while he is contributing to the Outside programme with a night-time projection (Pieds à l'envers sur la terre, 1997) and an installation on the edge of the Docks, which unexpectedly brings together cacti and eggs.
