Saâdane Afif's installations are, in his own words, "vehicles" that convey the experience of a relationship with the world that, far from being linear, is systematically complex and heterogeneous. The work TOUT (1998, FNAC collection), for example, consists of the artist's enlarged hands serving as a receptacle for a sound mix of familiar sounds (a church steeple, the screeching of tyres, a child's laughter, a burst of machine-gun fire). This work, which attempts to represent the totality of the world through image and sound, resonates with the OFF sound raft created for the Outside section, which mixes the rumours of private and public spaces.
