Stephen Wilks also offers a performance in the public space.

Born in 1964 in Bridgwater (England), he lives and works in Berlin.

Stephen Wilks' work has a visual and emotional tension that runs through both photographs and installations. His colour photographs are all set in the urban environment: people walking down the street, mosquitoes in the sky, pavements, a supermarket. His sculptures are three-dimensional versions of the cabbage motif in painted and glazed ceramic or terracotta, sometimes placed on the ground surrounded by newspaper, sometimes perched on a stick against the wall. An enigmatic, ambiguous and subtle work, which projects an inner monologue into street life and everyday life.

Stephen Wilks is exhibiting in Cahors a selection of recent photographs from Marzahn series (1999) and photographs made especially for the exhibition.
