projection vidéo, couleur, son, 3'05"

Born in 1972 in Reykjavik, she lives and works in Iceland.

Bjargey Ólafsdóttir uses photography, film and drawing. Her short film False Teeth, shown for the first time in an exhibition outside Iceland, builds a fictional story around a flying dentist, decaying teeth and a lovers' quarrel. This meticulous and lively comedy shakes up our conception of reality and awakens our curiosity about the unexpected aspects of private life. Bjargey Ólafsdóttir belongs to a new generation of Icelandic artists who are challenging all preconceived notions of Nordicness.
