Born in 1962 in Barletta (Italy), he lives and works in Berlin.

The film Hamahakki (1999), made in collaboration with the inhabitants of Taivalkoski, Finland, shows men and women singing the lullaby Hamahakki (the story of a spider who tries to climb a garden hose and keeps falling off). This simple exercise becomes extraordinarily moving, as the familiar (but perhaps forgotten) verses bring back childhood memories. Gradually the singers grow in confidence, and the barriers between childhood and adulthood disappear.
