Alexandra Sell

Born in 1968 in Hamburg (Germany), she lives in Köln (Germany).

In 1998, Avon Cosmetics in Great Britain commissioned the German photographer Alexandra Sell to produce a series of portraits of three of their door-to-dood saleswomen, which was part of this compagny's promotion and expansion project. Alexandra Sell went to Great Britain and worked on this commission. But she then fleshed out her initial task. Fascinated by the personnal histories of each one of the three women, Jayne, Di and Cherie, Alexandra Sell decided to embark on a personnal project on the fringes of her commision Das Avon Projekt (The Avon Project) (2001).
