fibres optiques / projecteurs / 24 diapositives / installation

l'oeuvre phylogenesis, 2002, présentée dans le cadre du festival, est une commande du centre national des arts plastiques, Paris

Born in 1964 in Madrid, he lives there.

Daniel Canogar is fascinated by the world of science and technology, and by the way both science and technology determine not only our patterns of behaviour, but also define our bodies. He presents his installations in the lobby the Museum of Medicine. His work constructs areas of interaction with the viewer, appropriating scientific images "so as to give them a symbolic identification". By way of photography, and photographs projected by means of complex fibre optic systems affixed to the ceiling and walls, Canogar creates absolutely magical and stiking scenes.
