Born in 1961 in Erfurt (Germany), he lives in Leipzi (Germany).
After de reunification of Germany, the government planned to create a huge network of motorways and railway links in the east, with the aim of encouraging exchanges and communications between the two Germanys and the rest of Europe. Hans-Christian Schlink's pictures of this spectacular project analyse its aethetic and environmental impact. In the direct and sentimentality-free formalist tradition, Schink nevertheless offers glimpses in his photographs of a certain ironical and critical content.
