Lucy Orta is also exhibiting at the Couvent des Jacobins.

Born in 1966 in Birmingham (England), she lives in Paris.

Lucy Orta's work combines architecture with body art and street theatre, fashion with social therapy, formal poetry with ideological activism. A trained and committed designer, she explores clothing not in its functional dimension, but in its poetic and social dimension. Both utopian and functional, her individual and collective "body architectures" highlight the idea of social ties. Through performances organised in collaboration with choreographers, she works on the idea of group mobility and collective action, but also on interaction with the public.

As part of the Soirées Nomades, she presents one of the branches of the Nexus type opera.tion Life nexus project in "inhabited" form as part of a performance choreographed by Marion Muzac on the Place de la Daurade.
