The map of a territory speaks to us of its furrows and rivers, its mountains, valleys and seas, and thus informs us of the personality of each nook and cranny, the specificity of each place. With Marta Maria Perez Bravo, we read the body as if it were a map - not only its flesh but also its masks, reflections and habits. Everything speaks to us of being. Her images, which manifestly refer to the Afro-Cuban mystical and ritual tradition, treat the body as a "piece of geography" in which the evocation of fears, solitude, bonds, amorous rupture and death adumbrate the territory of the wild soul in its pure state, both spirit and flesh.
