Born in 1962 in Barcelona, he lives there.

The individual’s relation to the community is one of this artist’s favoured themes, as is very clear in his latest project. During his daily walk to his studio in Barcelona’s Ciutat Vella, (which quarter has a high immigrant population), Juan Urrios noticed that many of the immigrant children wore Fútbol Club Barcelona t-shirts. He decided to photograph these mainly teenage boys and girls who were so proud to support El Barça. This act then led Urrios to explore with them their origins, their dreams and their loves—in a word, to analyse the process whereby they are integrated and affiliated and inserted into the community.
