Born in 1953 in Dortmund (Germany), he died in 1997 in Vienna.

Martin Kippenberger always insisted that he was not a real painter, sculptor or photographer. He imitated every style without copying any. He was one of the most prolific artists - he preferred the word "entrepreneur" - on the German and European scene over the last thirty years. In his work he stuck to a number of constant principles, seeking to make art that was alive and in good spirits; not to make art for art's sake, but art integrated into life.

Images from the publication Psychobuildings (1988) are presented at les Abattoirs – Musée Frac Occitanie Toulouse. This publication consists of a series of objects and constructions seen and photographed in the street. These images, for which he destroyed the negatives, offer a kind of psychological portrait of the artist
