Roni Horn

Born in 1955 in New-York, she lives there.

Roni Horn divides her time between two very contrasting worlds: New York and Iceland. The latter has inspired a large number of her recent works, including series of photographs and drawings, objects, sculptures and videos. These cycles are concerned with two things: the relation between human nature and nature, and the role of the viewer. For Horn, the subjects of her photographic portraits and the subject of the work are not the same thing. The photographic image is above all a vital means of self-knowledge.
