Born respectively in 1982 and 1976 in Nantes.
Live in Nantes.
With Piercing the Psychic Heart, the Quistrebert brothers’ show in La Fondation Ecureuil is laid out like a crypt in which they weave their phantasmagorical world of pop-rock, romantic painting, gothic imagery, decadence and fantasy literature.
Since 2002, the Nantes-based twosome has been producing a multi-facetted corpus of works combining drawings, bronze sculptures and paintings, aiding and abetting an unusual mythology scattered with references to art history.
What does the festival’s subtitle “Here where I am doesn’t exist”” do for you?
“I think I’d like to go back home and take it easy”, Neil Young, Everybody Knows this is Nowhere, 1969.
What does art help you accomplish?
“Doesn’t mean that much to me to mean that much to you”, Neil Young, Old Man, 1972.
