Following the same lines as 2008, le Printemps de septembre is opening up a part of its circuit to the artists in residence at the Ateliers des Arques, near Cahors. This year’s exhibition organiser of that “ephemeral community” is the German artist Rainer Oldendorf.

“Names and words. Challenging its reading. Looking, listening and forgetting. Established facts as close as you can get to artists: machinery of precise, specific efforts, to connect everything. Non-intentional cooperation. Example: our graphic designers decide—without ever having been spoken to about it—to put the reproductions of the works on the poster in alphabetical order. It’s not just the Greeks who think. Thinking against thought. At Les Arques, each work has a place in the village. The works cannot be linked to one another except by thought. On the other hand,, they are in direct contact with the second nature roundabout and the sky above. In Toulouse, they will all be brought together in one room. In the city, in a room turned in upon itself, the works will form something more like a text, I suppose. As a sequel to the summer show at the Ateliers des Arques, an artists’ residency programme located in the Lot, the exhibition “LA09” will be showing works by Stéphane Calais, FalseParkLocation (Christian Bouyjou and Nadia Lichtig), Andreas Fohr, Lore Gablier, Prinz Gholam, John Giorno, Marianne Maric, John Murphy, Patrick Neu, Milica Topalovic, Tere Recarans, Pierre Soignon and Franz Erhard Walther.”
