As heroines and grand-daughters of the Comtesse de Ségur, Camille and Madeleine de Mallaret lived, played, and grew up in the small village of Verfeil, near Castres, in the “land of milk and honey” (pays de Cocagne), where they are now buried. Whence the idea, in the form of a tribute to these little literary pests, of inviting to the le LAIT art centre four artists, four intrepid fairies who, with their varied works, their pieces applied directly to the walls, and their manners good and bad alike, will tell a new and perforce cruel tale. In an eight-handed show, in the form of (the game of) consequences.
Tomb of Camille de Mallaret, Marquise de Belot (1848-1883), (Elder of the two model grand-daughters of the Comtesse de Ségur).
A tribute to the young heroines of the Comtesse de Ségur, buried at Verfeil near Castres, this exhibition takes the form of (the game of) consequences, with four intrepid fairies.
The film Nuit d’un jour of Véronique Boudier is screened Tuesday to Sunday at 3 pm and 6 pm in the studio.
Véronique Boudier (who lives between Paris and Brussels), knows where she is heading with her work which always takes one by surprise by its sparsity of means and which never fails to directly affect us by its unique poetic and existential scope. With her film Nuit d’un jour, the artist produces an emotional suspense that sends every spectator in search of the direct experience of their receptive presence.
After a text on the artist by Vincent Labaume.
