A director, composer, musician and conceptual artist, born in 1940, and a pioneer of minimal music, Tony Conrad had a considerable influence on the American musical and film avant-garde. His music, usually performed with a violin, is described as “dream music”, a kind of improvisation which explores the musical and harmonic possibilities of drones.

Before the concert there will be a screening of a film by the New York-based director Marie Losier, who has produced a series of atypical portraits of the great masters of the avant-garde with the help of her diminutive 8 mm camera.
