Born 1969 in Los Angeles, he lives in Paris.

The performances, videos, drawings and installations by this Californian artist, which are usually inspired by contemporary mythologies, express his fascination with the resurgence of rituals in popular culture.

The ABC cinema is showing the last episode in his Kranky Klaus trilogy (2002–3). Shot in Austria, this film follows the unfolding of a pagan festival that is more than four hundred years old, the Saint-Nicholas, held on 6 December. Disguised with disconcerting masks and animal skins, individuals walk around the town, going from door to door, visiting locals in their houses. This festive ritual starts like a game and soon becomes disturbing.
