One day we will have to take a closer look at this "minor" art that is displayed in hotels and restaurants. Two types of places that are not intended for art and yet serve to show it. Restaurants, in particular, often offer their walls to painters who thus seek to make their work exist and to negotiate it outside the usual circuits of the art world (galleries, art centres, museums, etc.) which neglect them. These are generally paintings that clumsily recycle rather dated codes and make little contribution to artistic creation. If one thinks that the art venue has an instituting effect on the works, it must be admitted that this effect is very attenuated in restaurants. Nevertheless, this exhibitional activity brings the idea of art into contexts where it is not expected. Hotel paintings thus write a parallel history of art, as if in mute and deferred mode, where an average taste is insensitively formed, which rubs off on the decor of common life. They are less intended to be looked at than to be seen as a humanising element of this décor.

The Brasserie des Beaux-Arts is located next to the September Spring address. It is therefore natural that it offers the friendly setting for some of our activities and meetings. Instead of the exhibitions that follow one another on the mirrors that adorn the panelling, this year we have chosen to invite some of the artists of this festival to come and paint freely on these mirrors in a sort of festive "exquisite corpse". Free, reversible works, offered to the ephemeral delight of visitors and guests.
