Born in 1968 in Baltimore, she lives in Athens.

Athanasia Kyriakakos moves as freely between sculpture, installation and performance as she does between her birthplace, the United States, and Greece, the country where she spent most of her childhood. Her work reflects this curiosity towards the other and other cultures.

In her performance for le Printemps de septembre, which she will give during the opening evening, passers-by will be able to see her on the exhibition trail wearing her Mobile Coffee Table, offering them cups of coffee. Miming the instability of the world and its growing virtual exchanges, the artist is offering a place of exchange that is both tangible and mobile. Her act of giving is also her own way of revisiting ancestral traditions of hospitality.

Co-production Galerie du Château-d’Eau.
