Born in 1967 in Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina), she lives there.
Initiated at last year’s festival, Maja Bajevic’s project consists of inviting the inhabitants of Ausillon to work with ornamental motifs from their home country. Held in a hairdresser’s shop on the square, this five-day performance will give people from different cultures a chance to get to know one another better. By engraving in glass and giving visual expression to their origins, the participants will themselves gradually become invisible. But this work, which has no functional utility (construction, repair) will no doubt arouse the curiosity of other inhabitants. For Bajevic this is a metaphor of life in public housing projects, which are both visible and invisible.
