Born in 1966 à Lier (Belgium), she lives in Anvers (Belgium).
In her photos, drawings and videos, Anne Daems picks out particular aspects of everyday life - gestures that are barely visible and seemingly insignificant events. But what looks as if it could be a simple snapshot turns out to be much more sophisticated. Daems collects details on a particular subject - usually a person - in such a way as to tell us everything about their personal microcosm. Nothing is important yet everything is significant and mysterious.
For this exhibition Anne Daems produced a new series of images, presented at les Abattoirs – Musée Frac occitanie Toulouse.
Commissioned by the Centre National d'Arts Plastiques, Paris.
