Michel Zumpf

09.24.04 - 10.17.04
Video installation — TLT

Born 1957 in St Lô (France), he lives in Paris.

Michel Zumpf has a "visceral" connection to images, and explores the world rather like a surveyor. One of his most recent works is le Géographe manuel, a kind of endless film conceived as a spiral. A producer of strange objects and of a poetry at the intersection of the real and the surreal, he juxtaposes images and the imaginary to invent a mental space-time that is both individual and collective.

In Toulouse, he is carrying out a new project, intimately linked to the city and to walking. It takes the form of roll films and short video pieces, which are broadcast by the local station, TLT (Toulouse Télévision).

Produced by La Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris.
