Stéphane Thidet's works are always suspended between two moments, and two states. They have the choice of indecisiveness, in order to set down the open limits of their territory. The refuge that the artist is showing for the Printemps de Septembre also makes use of things unfinished, and its movement is ceaseless. As a fortuitous meeting between an old-fashioned form of architecture (the cabin) and a primary form of event (rain), the piece creates the delicate picture of a slow, forthcoming destruction: the rain falling continuously inside the dwelling will end up eroding the wooden pieces of furniture, the only non-treated parts of the work. The installation is presented like a poetic landscape given over to the whims of time.
