A proposition by Joris Lacoste and Stéphanie Béghain
Voice : Stéphanie Béghain
Snare drum: Nicolas Fenouillat
Texts : Joris Lacoste (based on songs by Diana Ross, Björk, David Bowie, Elton John, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, James Brown, Bob Marley, New Order)

Joris Lacoste, a writer, and Stéphanie Béghain, an actress, stage a “real-phoney concert” of spoken songs, of the Anglo-Saxon variety. Joris Lacoste wrote the words, drawing unashamedly from a repertory ranging from James Brown to David Bowie, by way of Diana Ross, to compose his own French versions of original hits in a translation that is intentionally flawed. Accompanied by the drummer Nicolas Fenouillat, Stéphanie Bhégain reads the texts on stage in a minimal set-up playing with rock concert landmarks. 9 lyriques is a transposition from the pop world to the world of spectacle and literature.
