Card from the artist's collection

Born in 1950 in Hüttlingen (Germany), he lives in Strengelbach (Switzerland).

A self-taught painter, Christoph Gossweiler was influenced by the concrete art which came into being in the 1940’s in Zurich. As a car enthusiast, the artist has produced several works on the subject, such as his blue monochrome shown in 1981 at the Kunsthaus Aarau, whose height and length (912 x 144 cm) are the same as Donald Campbell’s mythical Bluebird CN7. But his paintings nevertheless appear like monochrome surfaces whose colour and dimensions seem random.

Invited to exhibit in the delightful Musée Calbet de Grisolles, Christoph Gossweiler inserts at will his endless collections amongst the various types of objects of this little, rural museum.

May in autumn.

What does the festival’s subtitle “Here where I am doesn’t exist” do for you?
“Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines!”

What does art help you accomplish?
It enables me to carry on moving forward from the place where I’d previously stopped.
