Fabián Barba

Ever since studying at P.A.R.T.S (Brussels), the young Ecuadorian Fabian Barba has been fascinated by one of the pioneers of modern dance, the expressionist German dancer and choreographer Mary Wigman. A Mary Wigman Dance Evening takes us back to the dance performances of the 1930s as Barba recreates several of Wigman’s solos as well as the conditions in which they were originally performed. In this way he challenges our vision as 21st-century spectators.
