Co-authors and performers: Sylvia Preuss-Laussinotte and Sébastien Canevet

“Where the Prefecture sees X as a foreigner, we see essentially an author”: this is the observation made by the two lawyers/performers Sylvia Preuss-Laussinotte and Sébastien Canevet. Halfway between legal documentary and theatrical fiction, their plea “wields the arm of the hospitality of author’s rights to force the hostility of the law on foreigners” and to defend an undocumented immigrant threatened with expulsion. Backed up by legal arguments, Plaidoirie pour une jurisprudence explores ways of breaking down the stereotypes pertaining to immigration and law.
